A new organisation has been established in Jersey to promote the Island’s wellbeing capability; it offers business and marketing support to the providers of wellbeing services, and it aims to facilitate the provision of physical and emotional wellness to people in need.
Created by Beverley Le Cuirot, Chief Executive of Immediate Impact and Chairman of Young Enterprise Jersey, WellBeing World will promote wellbeing throughout the community; in the workplace; and aims to promote Jersey as a location for wellbeing; in so doing, creating a platform for specialist in-bound tourism.
The new movement is fast gaining momentum and has already attracted a wide range of businesses including a number of hotels; speciality travel agency Travelmaker by Design; sports clubs, including Wheatlands Golf Course and Jersey Swimming Club; fitness club BodyRox and Bootcamp Jersey; Yoga instructors including a number of styles; nutrition experts; organic foods, health and beauty practitioners; complementary therapies and healing; life counselling, as well as books, crystals, gemstone jewellery and other specialist retailers.
Eco-friendly architects and other businesses have also signed up, including De Gruchy’s Funeral Services, for family care and pre-paid funeral planning.
‘This is a ‘whole of life’ concept, applicable to people of all ages across a range of circumstances, and wholly determined by the individual as to what brings them happiness, health, peace of mind and prosperity,” said WellBeing World director, Beverley Le Cuirot. “This varies person to person and may be defined by exhilaration, inspiration, relaxation, or simply calm and peace of mind. It also changes as our priorities change and is truly up to the individual to decide what is applicable to them at their particular stage of life.”
One of the first events to be organised by WellBeing World will be ‘The WellBeing Fair’, a weekend event to be held in the grounds of Jersey Pottery in Gorey Village.
Exhibition stands will be located in the Garden Restaurant and surrounding landscape gardens, and healthy eating and refreshments available from Spinnakers café next door.
The fair will be an opportunity for WellBeing World members and guest exhibitors from as far afield as Spain and the UK to promote their therapies, products and services. All organisations providing wellbeing services, including Genuine Jersey members, overseas and visiting businesses are welcome to participate.
The WellBeing Fair will be open to the general public on Saturday, 10th and Sunday, 11th September from 10am to 5pm. A series of talks, workshops and demonstrations will also be staged. Tickets will cost £2.50, payable on the door, with free entry for children under 12 years of age.
An exclusive VIP Preview Evening will also be held for the media, corporate and other invited guests on Friday, 9th September, providing corporate hospitality opportunities to local and visiting Channel Island businesses.
