The International Cricket Council (ICC) European Division 1 T20 Tournament will be held in Jersey for the first time ever, later this month.
Originally introduced to create a lively form of the game which would be attractive to spectators both at the ground and on television, T20 is full of action, appeals to a wide audience and is taking the international cricketing world by storm.
The Tournament will be held in the Channel Islands from Wednesday, 19th to Sunday, 24th July. Teams will include hosts Jersey and Guernsey, along with Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Israel, Italy and Norway, plus Belgium and Austria (the winner & runner-up from Division 2).
A total of 42 matches will be played at eight venues in Jersey and Guernsey; and following the Final, which will be held at Grainville Cricket Ground in Jersey, the winners and runners-up of Division 1 will qualify for the World Twenty20 Global Qualifier.
Corporate Hospitality Opportunities
Jersey Cricket has identified two days which will provide the greatest action and interest for Jersey audiences – the ‘Jersey Day’ on Wednesday, 20th July when Jersey will play in both games, against Belgium at 11am, and against Denmark at 4pm, at Farmers Field, St Martin – and the Play-offs and Final scheduled to be held at Grainville Cricket Ground on Sunday, 24th July at 10.30am and 2.30pm respectively.
Both days are proving to be of great interest to Cricket fans both as a Corporate Hospitality opportunity and as the chance to enjoy a day’s International T20 with a group of like-minded friends and colleagues.
Marquee Hospitality is available to provide an exclusive and shaded area to entertain one’s guests; and mixed tables are also available for smaller groups, tourists, business visitors and other individuals who would like to attend. Tickets for the Marquee Hospitality are available for £50 per person to include Canapés, a Two Course Lunch and Coffee, provided by Harpers Catering.
