The Jersey Branch of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) has announced that the Rt. Hon. Michael Portillo, former politician and broadcaster, will be the Guest Speaker at the ICSA Jersey Gala Dinner in March 2012.
The annual black tie dinner will be held in the Great Hall at the Hotel de France on Friday, 16th March 2012, and is open to ICSA members and students, and also other members of the professional and local community. ICSA members and guests from the UK, Isle of Man and Guernsey are also welcome.
“We are delighted to announce that the Rt. Hon. Michael Portillo will be our Guest Speaker at the 2012 Gala Dinner and Graduation Ceremony,” said ISCA Jersey Branch Chairman, Tania Angell.
“We are also looking forward to recognising the professional qualifications achieved by the ICSA Jersey graduates, and to celebrating this commitment, knowledge and effort in the presence of employers, family and friends.”
The ICSA Jersey Graduation Ceremony was successfully introduced in March 2011 in a new-format style dinner; it is now the focal point of the ICSA Jersey calendar. And, back by popular demand, the evening will conclude with musical entertainment and dancing to local group, Honeybun, and Channel103 DJ, Spencer Davies, until 1am.
The Dinner will be sponsored in 2012 by The Basel Group, CCV Jersey and BPP Professional Education, all keen supporters of ICSA Jersey and its members.
Tickets are £70 per person or a table for 12 people is £800. The evening will incorporate a Drinks Reception and three course Dinner.

ICSA Jersey
Chartered Secretaries are high-ranking professionals with a broad base of skills. Trained in corporate law, finance, accounting, strategy, governance, and company secretary-ship, they are professionally qualified individuals to whom the Board Directors turn for advice on a range of business issues.
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) is the international qualifying and Membership body for the Chartered Secretary profession and a leading authority on governance and compliance. ICSA qualifications have the additional benefit of being globally recognised, giving ICSA members the opportunity to travel and work overseas, and so providing a passport to a superb career.
The profession of Chartered Secretary attracts a wide variety of people. Many of the local members work in the finance industry, others work for local companies listed on the CISX and some have served in the police force. Many people join ICSA as new graduates looking for a diverse and rewarding career; often they may be working in entry-level roles in corporate governance and want to take their career to the next step; most want to fast-track their route to the boardroom.
